Emirati writer Abdullah Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of spreading awareness among members of society of the need to support good content provided through social media, and to boycott bad content, advising influencers and content creators to read, travel and learn about the cultures of other peoples before starting to publish the materials they wish to publish.

During a session organized yesterday evening at the Sea of Culture pavilion at the 32nd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and presented by Dr. Mohammed bin Jarsh Al Suwaidi, Al Nuaimi called on elites to approach reality and people, and to provide content that is easy for them to understand and interact with, pointing out that the first challenge imposed by the means of communication on societies is its impact, whether on juniors, youth and even adults, and the obsession of many to seek «trend», and to become the talk of people as soon as possible, warning that Leaving negative content without trying to control it will make it float and spread at the expense of the good.

He also called on institutions and entities in the state to support influencers who are good content creators, and not to focus on the public and financial profit calculations. He considered that during the period from 2017 to 2019, the institutions of distinguished content owners failed in their quest for names that enjoyed a wide audience despite the lack of distinction in what they offer, but this situation was corrected in the recent period.

Al-Nuaimi stated that his satisfaction with the local content provided through social media does not exceed 30%. On the role of elites in improving content, he explained that the concept of elites itself needs to be reviewed, after it was hit by a state of uncertainty, and the presence of veteran writers declined, and they no longer have a strong presence on the scene, and writers from the new generations surpassed them in attendance and participation in the cultural movement.
