A 74-year-old woman was assaulted by three thieves in a car park in Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne) on Friday night. Armed with a knife, one of them allegedly threatened to "cut off her fingers" if she did not meet their demands. The criminals had spotted the rings worn by the victim: a four-carat solitaire worth € 60,000 and a wedding ring estimated at € 20,000.

No interpellation

The old lady agreed to give them her luxurious jewels, reports Le Parisien. Then, the victim was sprayed with tear gas by the thieves who managed to escape.

Police officers from the Évry-Courcouronnes police station, in charge of the investigation, rely on CCTV footage to spot the thieves. As of yesterday, no suspects had been arrested.
