Cannes, the Croisette, the chic outfits, the red carpet, the steps of the Palais des Festivals... Enough to make young girls dream. In any case, Anna Biolay, 20, daughter of Benjamin Biolay and Chiara Mastroianni, had to expect a little magic and glamour for her very first climb of the steps. But, while she walked the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival for the film Rosalie, in which she plays, it is a volley of criticism that accompanied her steps on the networks, attacking her physique and her status of "daughter of".

Faced with this wave of hatred, the aunt of the young woman, the singer Coralie Clément, sister of Benjamin Biolay, took her defense Sunday on Instagram. Disgusted, she insisted that her niece owed her place in the film Rosalie only "to her work and her relentlessness and her undeniable talent".

From dream to nightmare

She concluded her post on Instagram with a wish. "I just wish all these people behind their screens realized that they were beating up children for free. You are simply monstrous," she wrote.

Sandrine Kiberlain, who herself experienced this problem of "legitimacy" for her daughter, Suzanne Lindon, director of the film Seize Printemps and which she had with Vincent Lindon, continued.

"It flips my mind. Anna is passionate and exciting. Let her do the beautiful path she deserves. Shame on you jealous and hateful, "she shared in comment, Benjamin Biolay adding a heart.

The film Rosalie, by Stéphanie Di Giusto, also starring Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Benoît Magimel and Benjamin Biolay, is due out soon. No date has yet been communicated.
