The deletion of the popular music platform "Spotify" of the song of the Palestinian artist Mohammed Assaf "I am my Palestinian blood" after 8 years of its release, received different reactions from social media users.

The song "I am my Palestinian blood" on YouTube alone has racked up more than 30 million views and was on Spotify before Assaf and others were surprised to delete the song.

Mohammed Assaf is a well-known Palestinian singer, whose fame increased after he released eight years ago the song "I am my Palestinian blood", which is now sung in many Palestinian and Arab parties, weddings and events, as an expression of solidarity with the cause of Palestine and its people.

After Spotify deleted the song, activists circulated that the deletion was motivated by accusations of anti-Semitism.

The Palestinian singer wrote in a tweet, "I checked my official page on the platforms Spotify and Apple Music, and I was surprised by the deletion of the song My Blood Palestinian, where I received an official email so, under the pretext that the song incites the Zionist enemy," as he commented through his account on Instagram, "Normal preserved in the heart of every free and honorable."

In response, Palestinian activists launched a campaign to boycott Spotify and rate the platform with one star instead of 5 stars.

Denunciation and ridicule

Shabakat (2023/5/22) followed up on some of the comments of Palestinian and Arab activists on the deletion of the song, including what Wael Al-Sharqawi wrote, "As the composer and music arranger of this eternal song, I condemn this irresponsible decision, which will undoubtedly entrench my Palestinian blood in the platform of the conscience of our peoples."

Cyrine also tweeted, "And like what Mohammed Assaf, every Palestinian Hafezha, my school Bntla students morning on this song and all of them memorized," while Khaled tweeted sarcastically, "The West is a country they have freedom of opinion rigid Oy is not possible."

Ahmed al-Omari also wrote sarcastically, "Since powerlessness and surrender dominate the Arab decision, we do not condemn the deletion of the song "Yalla Sabwa: Halcoffee and Zidoha Hill", or the use of a deputy of the name of Palestine in parliament because it has a flavor of hostility."

An account called "Resist" wrote: "Not his song as a person, the original song you will not receive. The best thinker is the case of a resistance and a target, who replaces us with his passion and forms, who trades in the case."

In turn, the Spotify application commented in a tweet on what it considered allegations accusing it of deleting the song because of its anti-Semitism: "The deletion of the song was not limited to Spotify only, but included several other platforms, and there is no truth to the news that the song violates the laws and guidelines of Spotify, and we are not against publishing the song."

"The distributor has submitted a request to remove them, and we hope the content will be restored soon," she said in another tweet.
