Damascus-SANA

A classical musical journey enjoyed by lovers of this art in the string quartet concert on the stage of the drama theater at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

The members of the Amara Quartet, which includes violinists Razan Kassar and Amer Dakshli, viola player Marwan Abu Jahjah and cellist Maria Shaheen, were able to create harmony between the stringed instruments as if it were an orchestra playing at full capacity, and were able to move between musical movements with grace, ease and mastery.

The musical evening program was in two parts, the first of which dealt with the quartet No. 9 by the Austrian composer Franz Schubert, who lived for 30 years, but during this short period he made a great contribution to the development of global musical culture, and is considered one of the brightest founders of the romantic trend in musical art, where the quartet was able to present the four movements, which began with a fast and brilliant movement followed by a moderate rhythm to play the Minuit dance and concluded with an enthusiastic acceleration.

The second part was dedicated to the quartet No. 2 of the Russian musician Alexander Borodin, who was known for his personal compositions that mimic the tunes of Russian folk melodies and composers of the Russian National School, and harnessed harmonies and tones different from the Western European style, and developed with his symphonies and string quartets the form and style of musical composition, and made the musical movement arise from one basic idea or melody.
