At dawn on the 15th, the entrance to an apartment complex in Gangnam, Seoul.

A man chases a barefoot middle school girl, knocks her down, and assaults her by violently pulling her.

The perpetrator is Mr. A, the middle school girl's father, and her brother and mother, who arrived late, are also violent towards the middle school girl.

Mr. A's assault did not stop for more than 10 minutes.

Determined that the severity of the assault was serious, the police applied to the prosecutor's office for an emergency temporary measure to prevent her parents and brother from approaching or contacting the victim.

In particular, Dad A was also charged with No. 7, the highest in the Child Abuse Punishment Act.

If there is a risk of recurrence of abuse, the offender will be detained in a jail or detention center for up to two months for the protection of the child, which can be extended once.

In the last five years, there have been only 2 applications for Interim Measure No. 1, of which the courts have accepted only 5.

[Jihyun Kwak/Lawyer specializing in children's rights: Measure No. 7 is a very rare case of putting a suspect in custody without a warrant, which is why the investigating agency and the court have determined that it is a serious matter.]

Mr. A was reportedly detained at the Seoul East Detention Center yesterday afternoon, and the victim, a middle school girl who was admitted to the shelter, is not known to have any serious trauma.

Police are continuing their investigation, including obtaining statements from the victim, considering the possibility that family members such as Mr. A may have abused the victim in the past.
