Turkish artist Kemal Yazigi presents a collection of his abstract works at his recently opened Pedia Gallery in Dubai's Al Quoz area. Through the works, Yazigi presents his abstract visual vision that derives its colors from nature, as well as from the different cultures he carries, as he reformulates them in a symbolic style, so that his paintings guarantee the strength of color, its gradations, and the reflections of shadow and light on the spaces of the painting.

Yazigi's paintings carry a lot of momentum in the power of color, so we find in some paintings the tyranny and emergence of the strong yellow color, which mixes it with green, and then in other paintings the blue combines with red, where the work is built from multiple color layers, but it highlights on the surface of the painting a simple set of colors. Yazigi's paintings captivate the recipient, taking him on a journey of self-reflection, through the overlapping layers of colors and dimensions that translate the reality of our dynamic and fast-moving world.

The Turkish artist spoke to Emirates Today about his recent works, and about his choice of Dubai to display his works, and said: "When I decided to open my own gallery, I thought about Dubai, because it carries a special luster in the way works of art are displayed, and exhibitions are presented, especially since it now contains many cultural areas." He pointed out that Dubai's cultural and urban scene constitutes an inspiring image for artists, as it combines traditional buildings, as well as the contemporary urban scene, for example, the Museum of the Future, and its Arabic calligraphy offering, is an icon worth seeing, and can be inspired by it. He believed that Dubai deserves to be the capital of art in the Middle East, due to all the areas it offers that encourage creativity, whether in Alserkal Avenue or even in the Dubai International Financial Center, or even in terms of stations and annual programs that encourage artists to present their work there. Yazigi pointed out that the hall is located in Al Quoz, and it is divided into sections

Several of them, including a space dedicated to displaying works, and a space that is considered his studio, explaining that he will work to host exhibitions in the gallery from Germany and Turkey for a group of artists.

On his abstract paintings, he said: "The works are inspired by the natural scenes in the environment in which I grew up and lived, and my relationship with colors is special, so it can be said that I love the tools I work with, and the way I present my artistic vision." The Turkish artist added: "My love for traditional tools may have been the reason that kept me away from the world of digital art or what is known as (NFT), as I received a lot of requests about presenting works in the form of (NFT), but I am still currently not attracted to presenting works in this way, and related to the idea of actual paintings that present my own vision of contemporary abstraction."

Yazigi noted that he did not merge art with digital art, considering that the technical development that occupies the current era has affected the definition of art, as the Corona pandemic has left great effects on the way exhibitions are organized, so exhibitions are held virtually, and the science of non-exchanged symbols, artificial intelligence and others has had its effects on art. He pointed out that contemporary art has always been linked to the moment in which it is produced, and therefore digitalis can be classified as the language of contemporary art in this period. He pointed out that one is the one who determines what he wants to present to the world, he is the one who chooses art or chaos, explaining that the definition of art for him, is that it is the means of the human mind in order to abandon fears, many creative works constitute a mystery, stressing that he focuses on his memories and feelings, from which he proceeds to present his vision.
