Local antiquities authorities in eastern China's Shandong province have announced the discovery of more than 110 tombs, dating back nearly 700 years.

Xinhua quoted Li Xingdong, director of the Cultural Relics Protection Center in Liaocheng City, province, as saying. The tombs were built between the Jin Dynasty 1115-1234 and the Qing Dynasty 1644-1911, noting the discovery of pieces of gold, silver, bronze vessels, pottery, and ceramics, and that the artifacts discovered enjoyed great popularity at that time, and were of great importance for academic purposes and exhibitions.

One of the tombs of the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368) consists of two burial chambers containing relatively well-preserved murals, with magpie and twig characteristics, a traditional style of Yemen and pond in Chinese culture.
