It is impossible to repel the human tide. Partygoers are still present by the thousands since Thursday evening in Villegongis, a small village in the Indre, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Teknival, the high mass of techno music whose last edition dates back to 2019, before the health crisis. The number of "teufeurs" present on a private land of 70 hectares, uncultivated fields, was 15,000 to 20,000 in the evening.

And that is expected to increase this Friday and over the weekend. "It is anticipated that participation should increase in successive waves (...). The Teknival could be spread out until Monday, "said the prefect, Stéphane Bredin.

No incidents reported

Taken by surprise by this gathering, theoretically banned by two prefectural decrees, neither the town hall of Villegongis - 110 inhabitants - nor the local authorities could organize themselves to supervise such a flood of participants, coming from all over the France and even from abroad. However, a command center was set up Thursday morning in the commune, with "an operational advanced medical post for 20 beds". Approved associations also organize a presence of 25 to 35 volunteers on the festival site.

No incident had been reported Thursday evening, knowing that 200 gendarmes were mobilized, with reinforcements sent from Blois and Marseille
