The man who died was only 18 years old. A 20-year-old suspect was indicted after a fight between two groups of young people in Angers during which two protagonists were wounded by stabbing, one fatally, we learned Thursday from the prosecutor's office. The incident occurred on Monday. A "violent altercation" first opposed, in the afternoon, "two groups of young men", some from the district of the Roseraie in Angers, the others from the neighboring commune of Trélazé, said in a statement the prosecutor of the Republic of Angers, Eric Bouillard. One person was injured and police intervened.

Clashes had resumed in the early evening near the district of La Roseraie. A young man from the neighborhood had been pursued by two others from Trélazé already involved in the afternoon brawl and carrying at least one knife, according to Eric Bouillard.

Killed "by mistake"

During this new altercation, one of the two attackers had injured "seriously" the young man pursued, whose state of health no longer inspired concern Wednesday night. But, according to the first elements of the investigation, it appears that the aggressor also "by mistake" struck the young person who accompanied him, also seriously injuring him. The latter, aged 18, succumbed to his injuries, announced Thursday Eric Bouillard.

The day before, while his second victim was still alive, the defendant had been indicted for aggravated violence, a count reclassified as violence resulting in death without intent to give.
