Alec Baldwin has become a grandfather. His daughter Ireland from his marriage to actress Kim Basinger gave birth to his first child on Thursday in Los Angeles.

As the twenty-seven-year-old announced a few weeks ago, she remains true to her parents' pattern of naming their offspring after a country. Ireland's daughter from the connection with the rapper RAC will go through life as Holland in the future.

Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin's second wife Hilaria welcomed the Hollywood star's first grandchild with a family photo from New York. "All these aunts and uncles, as well as we grandparents, are thrilled that Holland has arrived," the yoga teacher wrote on Instagram under the picture, which she showed with her 65-year-old husband and their children Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, María and Ilaria aged nine years to eight months.

The actor's ("30 Rock") relationship with his eldest daughter Ireland was considered strained for years after he called her a "ruthless little pig" after his divorce from Basinger.
