A worker died after falling from the cabin of the Seceda cable car in Val Gardena in South Tyrol. The man fell from a considerable height. The medical staff who arrived on the scene with the 'Pelikan 1' helicopter were able to ascertain the death of the worker. On site also mountain rescue, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza.
He is of Tuscan origin, but for years he lived in Val Gardena, the 48-year-old worker who died this morning after falling from a cabin of the 'Seceda' cable car in Ortisei. The man was a maintenance technician and today he was employed in work in view of the start of the summer tourist season.
According to the first reconstructions, the rope to which the worker was tied broke: the man died instantly after falling for about 60 meters. Present at the time of the tragedy was a colleague who was inside the cable car.
