A voice message on WhatsApp scares Egyptians and pushes them to close their homes to them

The Media Center of the Egyptian Council of Ministers revealed the truth of an audio message circulating on the application «WhatsApp» caused panic among citizens.

The center explained, yesterday, through its official account in «Facebook», that it communicated with the Ministry of Interior, which denied the validity of that message, stressing that there is no validity to that voice message circulating that urges citizens to tighten the doors of their homes under the pretext of the existence of a gang formation whose members claim to be affiliated with the Ministry of Health and are using an anesthetic to steal homes.

The ministry confirmed that no complaints have been monitored or reports have been received from citizens regarding incidents of theft of this kind, appealing to citizens not to be swayed by such rumors.

The Egyptian Cabinet Media Center called on social media users to investigate accuracy and objectivity and communicate with the concerned authorities to ensure before publishing information that is not based on any facts and leads to confusion.
