The story of a Chinese tourist who lost a luxury bag containing 500 million won in cash in South Korea and recovered it thanks to the active report of a citizen who acquired it.
According to the police today (19th), Mr. A, a Chinese tourist, lost a pink Chanel bag containing 16 million won in cash and two credit cards at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 500th.

About 11 hours after Mr. A lost his bag, he went to the Dongdaemun Center of the Seoul Tourist Police to ask for help.
Accordingly, the police officers immediately rushed to the scene, but they could not find the bag, and later confirmed that the bag was registered as a lost item in the police lost property management system 'Lost 112', and immediately found the Gwanghee District Police Station where the bag was stored and handed over the bag to Mr. A safely.
This was about 50 minutes after the report was received, thanks to active citizen reporting and the police's lost property system.
The protagonist of the good deed was Kim Bok-hyang, a 43-year-old citizen who found the bag on the stairs of Design Plaza while passing by at about half past 12 noon that day and left it at the Gwanghee District Police Station in central Seoul, about a five-minute walk away.
Mr. Kim reportedly guessed that the item belonged to a Chinese citizen by looking at the Chinese character name on the credit card in the bag, and then immediately reported the item as a lost item to show the spirit of the Korean reporter.
In an interview with Chosun Biz, Kim said, "I wanted to show the Chinese that South Korea's reporting system is faster than any other country. I hope it will serve as an example of neoculture in the future."
According to an official at the Dongdaemun Center, Mr. A couldn't hide his surprise and joy at getting his items back about 5 minutes after reporting the loss.
The official continued, "It is the work of citizens and police who have a strong spirit of reporting, and they are quick to judge the situation," adding, "There are frequent cases of lost cards, wallets, and bags, but the lost property system is in place so that they can be found quickly."
On the other hand, 'Lost 50' is a system for registering lost and acquired items, and anyone can report lost items by accessing the portal website (https://www.lost112.go.kr/index.do) or find lost and acquired items stored at police stations nationwide.
