A bilateral meeting was held today between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Faisal Mekdad, and the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, on the sidelines of the preparatory meetings for the Arab Summit in Jeddah.
The two sides discussed issues related to joint Arab action and ways to enhance it, in addition to bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
Minister Mekdad said in a press statement after the meeting: "We have the decision from the top two leaderships in Syria and Saudi Arabia to move forward and to move forward, and there is no turning back."
Mekdad added: We discussed many issues, including preparations for the Arab summit, and we are satisfied with everything that has been done so far in this regard, and there are directives from the leaderships of the two countries that bilateral relations between the two countries be at the level that the peoples of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia deserve.
We also discussed the opening of embassies in both countries, and Syria and Saudi Arabia will provide all the necessary facilities to open the embassies as soon as possible.
