• Jain is for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival
  • The singer is invited for the 10th anniversary of Magnum Beach on the Croisette

His latest album "The Fool", which comes after the hits "Makeba" and "Come" in 2015 comes to listen to another musical facet of the artist. A traveler since her early childhood, in Dubai, Congo-Brazzaville or Cuba, Jain has taken a musical turn less inspired by these experiences abroad. "This third album, I started writing it when I was in Marseille. This album, for those who have not yet listened to it, 20/<> of the songs are about love, "she tells <> Minutes on Magnum Beach before her first live, this Thursday night. Far from the glamour of Cannes, the Toulouse artist let herself be dragged into the adventure of the festival, for a first live with her band since the release of her album. "Cannes is very far from my universe, I'm a little less glittery, a little less in front of the stage. So it's pretty funny to be here, I admit."

Cinema as inspiration too

What is still unknown is the artist's appetite for the 7th Art. "I love Pedro Almodovar's world. The film "All About My Mother" was strong for me. Tarantino, Jane Campion, Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead, I love these artists," she whispers. Enough to say that Jain was Magnum's right choice for their first big event on the Croisette. A desire and a common DNA between the artist and the brand, as confirmed by Elena Rakocevic, head of the Magnum brand. "Jain is back in the spotlight with his new album, and for us, it was important to collaborate with a guest who adheres to our values. We communicate essentially about pleasure, about assuming her choices, and Jain, in her musical choices, assumes her desires, her origins, she has a clear paw. Jain is our guest, and we are also waiting for the TikTokeur Jake on the ambassador side."

10 years of Magnum in Cannes

From music to cinema, there is only one bridge, or only one step if we agree to stick to the Festival. And this is also an essential point at Magnum, inclined to keep their desire and delight for the artistic circles, from one year to the next. "Magnum is a brand born with cinema thirty years ago. We started distributing our ice cream in the dark room. This link has never been broken, and we promote this link with creation in a global way by being in Cannes and choosing muses from all artistic fields. We had Miley Cyrus, Aya Nakamura, or even models like Bella Hadid," explains Nathalie Tempra, Magnum's marketing director.
