Al-Baath University honored 49 male and female students in the Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering who were among the first holders of the Al-Bassel Certificate of Excellence for the academic year 2021-2022 within a ceremony held on the grandstand of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the university.

The Vice President of Al-Baath University for Administrative and Student Affairs, Dr. Elias Boutros, stressed that the Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, with its unique specializations and various departments, is of great importance with scientific competencies to open the horizons of industries, research, production and modern technology, which contributes to a large share in the student's productivity in reconstruction in the field of industry and construction to serve our country, pointing out that honoring is an important part in the lives of students to continue their scientific excellence.

In turn, the Dean of the College of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Dr. Sherif Sadek, pointed out that distinguished students are the hope of the future, and their excellence contributes to the advancement of society, pointing out that today's celebration coincides with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Al-Baath University.

The President of the National Union of Students at the university, Ali Hamada, spoke about the practical aspect witnessed by the College of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, including activities and visits to laboratories that would integrate students with practical reality to reach excellence and success.

In the speech of the students, Hala Abbas said: "Excellence carries many values and meanings and honor that holds us responsible for continuing and advancing in it, indicating that science is the reason for the progress and prosperity of societies in various aspects of life."

The honoring ceremony was attended by a number of members of the leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch at the university, the head of the Teachers' Syndicate, and a number of interested and students' families.
