The funeral of the late director Hisham Sharbatji, who passed away yesterday afternoon at the age of 75 years from the hospital of the Mouwasat Charitable Association, to pray on his body in the Great Mezzeh Mosque, depositing the building of the General Authority for Radio and Television in the Umayyad Square before being buried in the cemetery of Bab al-Saghir "Mawardi" in Damascus.

The Director of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Dr. Tamer Al-Arbeed, explained that the director Sharbathi was a great stature with a presence and a milestone in the Syrian drama, as he was the owner of a project and one of the supporters of many young talents, and launched many stars, especially within the project that distinguished him, whether in comedy or social drama.

The owner of a distinctive dramatic school, a distinguished human being and a great director, this is how the artist Zuhair Abdul Karim, who worked with him in many works that are still watched with passion until now, including the diary of a general manager, pointing out that he was a star maker in all fields of art, describing his departure as a great loss not only for the artistic community, but for Syria and the Arab world.

His companion for more than thirty years, the executive director and editor Salim Shamia, said: "He was an affectionate and loving person who brought us together a lot of distinctive dramas, as he used to take out what is inside the actor and enter him in the situation before filming his scenes, and focuses a lot on the smallest details, bringing a smile to everyone who saw his works," pointing out that his school was the comedy of the easy knight abstaining, in addition to his ingenuity also in directing tragic works.

His passing left a great impact not on the artistic community, but on the Syrian and Arab audiences, and he owns a large library in drama and an important reference for future generations, as he will remain immortal in all our hearts.
