A tragedy took place Wednesday in Strasbourg, south of the Neudorf district. A 56-year-old man died in an apartment fire that also caused five minor injuries, firefighters said.

The fire broke out in the late afternoon on the second floor of the building, according to a statement from the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) of Bas-Rhin, which did not specify the causes of the disaster.

The fire has been extinguished

"The human toll reports a 56-year-old man discovered in cardio-ventilatory arrest, declared dead, (...) and five injured people taken care of by the firefighters and the SAMU, "according to the same source. The fire was extinguished with a water hose, the SDIS said.
