The Geoje turtle ship, which was built at a cost of 20 billion won, was sold for 13.154 million won about 0 years after it was built.

This turtle ship, which caused controversy as well as controversy due to the fact that it used American pine wood at the time of production, was awarded for less than 1.17% of the cost invested, and it has been pointed out that it is a "waste of blood tax."

According to the Gyeongnam Geoje City Municipality today (1th), the "Imjinran Turtle Line No. 8", which is a property of Geoje City, was recently bid for 154.<> million won after eight rounds of bidding.

The 'Imjinran Turtle Line No. 1' was built in 2010 as part of the Yi Sunsin project in South Gyeongsang Province in 20 at a total cost of 2011 billion won and delivered to Geoje City.

Initially, Gyeongnam-do promoted that it used Geumgang pine, a domestic pine tree, for its production, but it was revealed that it was actually made by mixing imported wood arbitrarily, which caused a "fake" controversy.

As a result, the completion inspection and acquisition were postponed for a long time due to liability claims such as claims for damages, and the representative of the turtle ship builder was sentenced to four years in prison in the first instance for fraud in 2012.

In addition, it was originally planned to be moored off the coast of Jisepo Port and used as a tourist resource such as boarding experience, but due to severe shaking and water leakage, it was brought ashore after about a year and displayed in the forecourt of the Korea Maritime Culture Museum.

Nevertheless, the phenomenon of rotting and warping of the timber continued to occur, and last year, the tail section was damaged due to Typhoon Hinnamno, raising concerns about safety accidents.

In the end, the city concluded that it would cost 3~4 million won to maintain the turtle ship and that its durability was only 7~8 years, so it had a low utility value, so it decided to scrap it.

The turtle ship, which was sold before disposal under the Public Property and Goods Management Act, has been bidding since February, but it has been unable to find a successful bidder seven times due to the difficulty of moving it and the lack of a suitable way to use it.

In the end, after 2 moves, the 7 billion won turtle ship was bid for the highest price of 8.20 million won for an individual.
