Five days after the death of an employee killed during a robbery in Villeurbanne, a 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night by the BRI, says the Lyon prosecutor's office, confirming information from the LyonMag website. He is suspected of being the perpetrator of the shootings.

The facts had taken place in the night from Thursday to Friday last. Around 3:30 am, the suspect went to a taco restaurant in Villeurbanne to get the contents of the cash register. Armed with a rifle, he allegedly threatened the two employees who were still there, before opening fire on the one who tried to prevent him from taking the money by hitting him with a chair.

The man, a drug addict, would have called the 18 to denounce himself, reports Le Progrès. He reportedly explained that he panicked and did not want to kill the employee. He also reportedly said he wanted to visit in the coming days. This was not commented by the prosecutor's office. The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Lyon.
