Researchers: Bowel cancer precedes its onset by two years

Researchers have identified 4 "warning signs" of bowel cancer that can appear two years before diagnosis.

The researchers found that the symptoms may indicate a higher risk of early bowel cancer in people younger than 50.

The symptoms of the "warning" are: abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, diarrhea, iron deficiency anemia.

The researchers concluded that having just one of the above symptoms almost doubled the risk of bowel cancer. While those who had two symptoms were three and a half times more likely to develop them, those who had 3 or more symptoms were 6 and a half times more likely to develop the disease. The disease claims nearly 17,11 lives annually and accounts for about <> percent of all new cancer cases.
