He had created a fake profile on a site that offers sexual encounters. But the rest of the scenario was quite different. Tuesday, an 18-year-old man was tried in Rennes for "extortion with violence" after trapping two men via this stratagem, in April in Ille-et-Vilaine, according to the newspaper Ouest-France.
The first tried to flee when he discovered the pot aux roses. Caught by the defendant and his accomplice, he was beaten with a baton and relieved of his phone and 200 euros. The second, threatened, was robbed of 300 euros.
The young man, who explained that he needed money, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, including 12 months suspended, reports the daily. His accomplice, a minor, will be summoned to appear before the juvenile court.
