After the Gyeongbokgung Palace fashion show of the luxury brand Gucci, the after-party event, which took place late into the night, caused a loud noise and caused inconvenience to nearby residents.

In fact, on that day, a noise report led to the police being called.

Gucci held the "16 Cruise Fashion Show" yesterday (2024th) at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Jongno-gu, Seoul, followed by a behind-the-scenes ceremony at a nearby building.

The problem was caused by the noise pollution caused by the event, which lasted until late at night, causing inconvenience to ordinary citizens living nearby.

At around 10 p.m. that night, Mr. A, who is believed to be a resident of a nearby neighborhood, tweeted, "How do I report noise pollution?" and said, "I took a picture with 10x zoom, but the sound of music is too loud all the way to my room. It's almost as if the speakers were installed outside. Even the laser lights are flashing," he said, sharing a photo of the Gucci back-and-forth event.

About an hour and a half later, at about half past eleven o'clock, Mr. A posted again, saying, "I don't know why they are making such a noise echo outside," adding, "This is where people live, how can this happen until half past eleven? Shouldn't we be acting like a luxury company?"

According to the video he attached, even though the distance is quite far away, the music inside the venue can be heard clearly, as if you were at the venue, and even the lights are flashing inside and outside the building because the event took place in a floor-to-ceiling building.

Mr. A said, "I've been doing this for almost 2~3 hours," and "I put up with it, my mother called the police."

In fact, it is reported that complaints were made due to the noise on that day, and even the police were called.

Another user, Mr. B, tweeted at about half past 17 a.m. on the 1th, "After thumping until almost 12 o'clock at night, the police finally arrived. I wanted to know what it was, but it was the Gyeongbokgung Palace Gucci Show afterparty," he said, releasing a video of the scene at the time.

The video showed police cars lined up on the boulevard just below the venue building with sirens sounding, while people gathered on the side of the road and police cleared the scene with the sound of a whistle.

As the news spread on social media, criticism continued to arise among users.

Fans reacted by saying, "Make the show cool and humiliate yourself with a back-and-forth", "Did you charter Seoul?", "Turn off the stadium amplifier after 10 o'clock", "If you want to hold an event, you should ask for your understanding first or not hurt others, you don't have a pass for a luxury fashion show event".

Gucci's fashion show was the first cruise fashion show in Asia.

In the past, other palaces such as Deoksugung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace have held large and small fashion show events, but this was the first time that they were held in the area of Geunjeonjeon, the central building of Gyeongbokgung Palace and a national treasure.

The fashion show will feature singer and actress IU, actors Lee Jung-jae, Kim Hye-so, Kim Hee-ae, and the group New Jeans Hani, who are Gucci's ambassadors. About 570 people attended, including representatives from the fashion world.

Hollywood stars such as Elizabeth Olsen, Dakota Johnson, and Sheasher Ronan also visited Korea and enjoyed the show.
