A running session in the morning, a cardio class with colleagues or yoga in the evening... Practiced regularly, sport reduces stress, improves the quality of sleep, soothes pain ... At work, it increases productivity (+ 6% to 9% according to a Goodwill Management study), strengthens the bond between teams and even self-confidence!

Which sport and when?

For Lucile Woodward, sports coach and co-founder of the Wellso method (online fitness programs without subscription), "all sports are beneficial, as long as you choose one or more sports that you like, in which you feel successful, while varying the activities. I recommend cardio, stretching, swimming and running."

For Lucile, the enemy of corporate sport is time. "Public transport, children to take care of, sport can easily fall by the wayside." In the morning, before leaving, on the lunch break, at the end of the day: when to practice when you feel overwhelmed? "There is no perfect schedule. Don't force yourself to get up earlier if you're not a morning person, don't force yourself to practice with your colleagues if you're not comfortable. Do what you can, without feeling guilty.

In any case, to avoid fatigue during the day, the coach advises to adapt your diet: a good breakfast, a healthy and sweet snack before the session, and a suitable meal 30 minutes to 2 hours later.

Rhythm!

"The ideal would be physical activity every day (Editor's note: to stay in shape, ANSES recommends 1 to 2 muscle strengthening sessions and 2 to 3 relaxation sessions (yoga, golf, tai chi...) per week, and 30 minutes of daily moderate-intensity physical activity (walking, cycling, climbing stairs...). But if you can already fit twice an hour, that's great! I can't wait for companies to become aware of the benefits that sport brings to employees, and make it easier for them by installing showers for example," concludes Lucile.
