In the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, the "National Day of the Sea" was held today in the Castelporziano Estate. The ceremony, conducted by Licia Colò, was opened by the performance of the National Anthem by the students of the Farnesina High School in Rome and by the screening of a video on the Sea Resource followed by a lectio by the underwater photographer and writer, Alberto Luca Recchi. The presenter then interviewed Andrea Stella, President of the Association "Lo Spirito di Stella" and Mariavittoria Rava, President of the Francesco Rava Foundation. The Minister for Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Sebastiano Musumeci, then spoke. At the end, President Mattarella, after receiving a gift from the students of the M. Colonna Nautical Institute in Rome and from the students of the F. Morosini Military Naval School in Venice, addressed a greeting to those present.
Previously, the Head of State had met some mayors of the municipalities of the smaller islands and visited the external exhibition area, divided into thematic poles, and consisting of various stands and photographic and virtual exhibitions, set up thanks to the collaboration of Ispra, the Ministry of Education, the Port Authority, the Italian school of rescue dogs, the Archaeological Superintendence of Naples and the Sicily Region. Present were the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, Claudio Barbaro, the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Merit, Paola Frassinetti and the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral of the team, Enrico Credendino.
