In Hiroshima, mostly, okonomiyaki is eaten: a characteristic dessert in the shape of pasta pancakes, stuffed with cabbage and a choice of bacon or shrimp, rigorously cooked on the hot plate and seasoned in sweet and sour sauce. On the occasion of the G7, the traditional Japanese dish was revisited in homage to the "clientele" who will follow the "Greats". And so tradition met fusion, introducing variations to the American burger, with French crêpes, British fish and chips, Italian spaghetti carbonara, German sauerkraut and Canadian pancakes accompanied by maple syrup. But how do you make an okonomiyaki? It starts with the noodles and garnishes. Was the experiment successful? Hard to say, it seems that at home not everyone is willing to taste the new versions and those who did would not have been particularly enthusiastic.
