The Cannes Film Festival, whose 76th edition takes place from 16 to 27 May 2023, its competitions, its stars, the huge Marché du Film with its producers, financiers, broadcasters and distributors, not to mention the glitter, the climb of the steps and its evenings on the Croisette... About 230,000 people are present in Cannes for the festival, three times its population year-round. Among them, 4,000 film journalists from all over the world. How do these film journalists work? Their daily life is champagne and meeting the stars? What do they do, and under what conditions, when about 5,000 film screenings take place during the festival? And to say what to readers, viewers and listeners? Where do they sleep, and do they party? Discover in the news podcast "Minute Papillon!" the backstage of the Cannes Film Festival on the media side with Caroline Vié, cinema journalist at 20 Minutes for twenty years.

"Cannes is really work!"

"Cannes is work, and on the glitter side, it's very quiet," says Caroline Vié in this exchange. We are rather the soutiers, but I am not complaining! People who imagine that we are on yachts all the time, drinking champagne with Timothée Chalamet, this is not true. Timothée Chalamet, if we see him, it's three minutes in an interview in the middle of many people who prevent us from taking pictures. Cannes is really work, but exciting work! " says the film journalist.

How do you meet Tom Cruise or Harrison Ford? Why can interviews with actors last four minutes? How do you work when there are several hundred other journalists doing the same job? What is the system of access badges for screenings? Who is partying in Cannes? How do we live after Cannes? All Caroline Vié's answers in this podcast, happy listening!
