It's
still mid-May, but the whole country is already in the midsummer heat. Today (5th), it will be hot with the midday temperature exceeding 16 degrees Celsius across the country. In particular, East Sea Gangwon and the interior of Yeongnam will be very hot, exceeding 30 degrees.

While the
sunny weather continues, today will be hotter than yesterday.

Today's midday temperature will exceed 33 degrees in most parts of the country, including 30 degrees in Seoul, 31 degrees in Daejeon, and 32 degrees in Gwangju.

In particular, Gangneung and Daegu will soar to 30 degrees, Gyeongbuk Gyeongju, Gimcheon, Gumi, and Seongju will reach 33 degrees, and in the East Sea of Gangwon and the interior of Yeongnam, it will soar to 34 degrees or higher.

That's about 33 degrees higher than yesterday and nearly 5 degrees higher than normal.

Warm southwesterly winds are moving in, and the sunny weather has brought strong sunshine, which has led to a significant increase in temperatures.

Because of this, some areas are likely to record the highest temperatures this spring.

However, the humidity is expected to be below 10% for most of the time, and the temperature is expected to be below 40 degrees Celsius, so it is not expected to be at the level where a heat advisory will be issued.

Due to the strong sunshine during the day, the UV index in most parts of the country will be "very high" and the ozone concentration will also soar to the "poor" level.

However, as the temperature drops due to radiative cooling during the night, the daily temperature can be as high as 31~15 degrees, so you need to pay special attention to health care.

By tomorrow, midday temperatures will be in the upper 20s, and from the day after tomorrow onwards, the weather is expected to turn cloudy and the early heat will be briefly relieved.
