The man suspected of killing his daughter in the night from Thursday to Friday in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) died Saturday as a result of his injuries, reports Le Parisien. He had thrown himself from the second floor of his building after stabbing himself in the throat. According to the Nanterre prosecutor's office, the forty-year-old died "without having been able to be questioned" by investigators.

The tragedy occurred shortly after midnight. Alerted by screams, neighbors raised the alarm. Once there, the police found the child's mother outside the apartment. Her ex-boyfriend was inside with their five-year-old daughter. After a few exchanges, he appeared on the balcony with a bloody face. He then threw himself out of the window.

Seriously injured, he was taken to hospital with a life-threatening prognosis. He died there on Saturday. The girl was found in cardiorespiratory arrest in the bathroom by emergency services. Very seriously affected in the throat, she could not be resuscitated. A murder investigation has been opened.
