Dubai Press Club (DPC) has revealed the details of the agenda of the third edition of Podcast Dubai, the first digital event of its kind in the region, and the largest gathering of Arab podcasts, which kicks off tomorrow at the Dubai Press Club headquarters in One Central, Dubai World Trade Centre.
Organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, Podfast Dubai will be attended by a group of the most prominent makers of podcasts and Arabic audio content, in the presence of representatives of regional institutions specialized in this field who will meet to discuss the future of podcasts in the Arab region, and ways to transform audio content into a professional product that competes on various podcast platforms.
The event will discuss the opportunities and challenges of creating digital content across various platforms, and is an opportunity to present the experiences of Arab podcasters, and review their role in creating and presenting meaningful Arabic audio content, and the positive impact of digital platforms in promoting inspiring Arab experiences, and will also include shedding light on successful Arab experiences in the world of podcasts, to identify the factors that contributed to the success of those experiences, and enable them to achieve wide popularity among the Arab public.
Development ambitions
Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said: "Based on the great responsibility that the club feels as one of the main drivers of motivation for the development of media work in the Arab world, the identification of topics that are raised through the major events it organizes annually to discuss the reality of Arab media and its future and within its various tracks, comes as a basis for a comprehensive briefing on all developments in the Arab media scene."
She noted the Arab participation in this year's edition. She said that the meeting of the most important Arab audio content creators in Dubai, and their keenness to participate in a professional discussion aimed at upgrading the sector, reflects the extent of confidence in Dubai's leadership in the field of digital media and its positive contribution to shaping its future. We continue to work to create a unified system to consolidate the rules of this industry in the region, and the next phase will see the club launch important initiatives in line with the new trends of this industry and its promising growth."
Unified mechanism
Mahfouza Abdullah, Director of Programs Development and Media Training, said: "We are delighted to welcome prominent content creators from across the Arab world to discuss ways to promote podcasting and enhance its spread in the Arab world. The Dubai Press Club's strategy focuses on contributing to the development of new media industries, of which digital audiovisual content is a large part, and Podcast Dubai is among the many steps adopted by the club to confirm this role, especially in the field of creating digital audio content or podcasts in light of its promising indicators in the region, and the significant growth it is witnessing globally."
She added: "There are efforts made by Arab audio content makers and some startups specialized in this field, in addition to platforms concerned with content production, but these efforts still need to be intensified to upgrade Arabic audio content, including the study of the market and knowing its trends, as well as marketing methods, and other topics, which leads us to work to find a unified mechanism to support the efforts of that industry, which awaits a promising future."

Podcast Academy CEO Michel Cobb will share her insights on the future of the podcast industry in the region.
Under the theme 'Conversation with Stefano', Podcast Dubai will host Stefano Falaha, CEO of Podio, one of the largest podcasting platforms in the Arab world, who will showcase the company's future trends in the region.
The event also includes a session titled 'Inspiring Stories', during which a group of Arabic audio content creators will talk about their experiences and inspiring stories. The session, which will be moderated by Mohammed Al Nuaimi, will host Nayla Noueini, Mohammed Islam, Ali Najm, and Anas Bukhash.
Workshops
The third edition of Podcast Dubai will include two podcasting capacity building workshops for Arabic content creators and media professionals in the region, including the world's leading podcasting platform Spotify Podcasts, which will address how to increase the number of followers and listeners, and help audio content creators learn different ways and tools to grow their audio content, in addition to a second workshop entitled "Enabling Audio Content".
