On the night of Saturday to Sunday, a resident of Cahors (Lot) who was returning home interrupted a burglary in progress in the house. But to escape the place, the "visitor" first had to extricate himself... from the bathtub. A few minutes later, explains the prosecutor's office, near the facts, a police patrol of the Cahors police station noticed the presence of an individual with suspicious behavior. This young man was mostly soaked and dressed "as if he had just come out of his bath," says the prosecutor of the Republic Alexandre Rossi.

Arrested and taken into custody, the suspect admitted the facts, stating that he had broken into a bay window to enter the home and had stored some of the victim's belongings in his bag. He also indicated during his police custody that during this burglary, he had time to cook pasta, and therefore to wash.

Already known

The suspect, a 30-year-old resident of Cahors is, moreover, very unfavorably known to the judicial services. Moreover, he had been coming out of a period of detention since 2 May this year.

The thirty-year-old was referred on Monday to the prosecutor's office and, as part of a measure of "plea-guilty", he was sentenced to ten months in prison, six months of which were suspended for two years. The sentence of four months "firm" being immediately executed, without any possible adjustment, the condemned was imprisoned in the Montauban prison.
