Ruler of Sharjah issued Amiri Decree under the chairmanship and membership of the Council

Bodour Al Qasimi as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Book Authority

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an Amiri Decree on the formation of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority.

The decree stipulates that the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority will be formed under the chairmanship of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, and the membership of: Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority, Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Senior Vice President of International Affairs at Emirates Airline, Abdulaziz Hamad Taryam, Director General of Etisalat in the Northern Emirates Region and Advisor to the CEO, Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Dr. Abdulaziz Abdul Rahman Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Rashid Mohammed Al Koos, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, Marwa Obaid Al Agroobi, Executive Director of House of Wisdom and President of the UAE Board on Books for Young People, John Ingram, President of Ingram Content Group, Yongsuk YS Chi, Non-Executive Chairman of Elsevier, Gaurav Shrinagesh, CEO of India and Southeast Asia, Member of the International Executive Committee, Penguin Random House, Marcus Dole, Executive Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Penamerica (PEN International American Chapter).

The decree stipulates that the Council shall distribute administrative positions among its members at its first meeting, provided that the term of membership in the Council shall be four years starting from the date of its formation and may be extended for a similar period or periods, provided that the Council shall continue to conduct its work at the end of its term until a new Council is appointed and those whose term of office has expired may be reappointed.
