A 41-year-old man was imprisoned at the end of his indictment, Friday, for the rape of a four-year-old child he was caring for as a babysitter, said Monday the Grenoble prosecutor's office, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré.
The suspect, who lives in Bourgoin-Jallieu in the north of Isère, was also indicted for possession and "habitual consultation" of child pornography images. He works as an order picker but "his secondary activities were childcare." He had also posted several ads on specialized sites or with agencies to offer his services.
Already convicted in 2012
The little victim would have said to have been raped "several times" by her babysitter who would have looked after nearly 200 children, according to the regional daily at the origin of these revelations.
The individual had already been convicted of possession of child pornography images in 2012. He would then have been registered in the Fijais, file of sex offenders, which the prosecutor's office has not confirmed for the moment.
Investigations will continue to analyze the contents of all computer media that were seized from his home.
