Coinciding with the launch of the Emirates Falconers' Club in 2001, the Arabian Saluki Centre in Abu Dhabi, the first of its kind in the Gulf region and the Middle East, was established to revive one of the most beautiful pillars of the desert tradition of hunting using greyhounds.

The Arabian Saluki Center aims to revive the sport of hunting with greyhounds, preserve its traditions and use it in the practice of falconry, preserve purebred breeds, provide those interested with the necessary knowledge and how to care for and care for them, train them, take care of them, propagate them, cultivate identification slides, as well as register births, issue passports and parentage certificates for them, and make transportation and travel arrangements in accordance with the approved laws.

The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) was the first heritage event in the Arab region to celebrate the friend of man and his companion in thousands of years, and the Saluki beauty contest was a unique initiative to promote interest in purebred breeds of hounds and strengthen the relationship of the new generation with the pillars of ancestral heritage.

The Emirates Falconers Club will organise the 20th edition of the exhibition from 23 to 29 August.

The precise evaluation and judging criteria for the "Most Beautiful Hound" competition include the characteristics of the breed from which the participating dog hails, behavior (such as walking and running), general appearance (such as head, eye, nose, mouth, ear, teeth and jaw), structure and shape (size, neck, shoulders, chest, back and tail), appearance (skin, color, movement, and legs), as well as hunting and chasing skills, general impression and psychological characteristics.

The exhibition management announced the launch of a new version of the Arabian Saluki beauty contest for the year 2023, which requires that the owners of Saluki commit that the participating dog is fit and healthy, has a vaccination certificate, and carries an electronic chip.
