The creative scene, Arab in general, and Emirati in particular, is witnessing a qualitative movement in terms of writing for children, as dozens of names of young people seek to enter strongly in the world of writing stories for children.

In its 14th edition, the Sharjah Reading Festival allows young authors who are taking their first steps in the world of children's writing to see the most prominent distinctive titles written by creators with long experience in this field.

The owner of Dar Shajara, winner of the UNESCO International Prize for Children's Literature in Tolerance, the Egyptian writer Amal Farah, said that «the most important thing that anyone who decides to enter the world of writing for children, must realize is the need to work continuously on the self, through the possession of knowledge», noting that knowledge from her point of view is not the great information achievement, «but a deep sense of what we read, and contemplate what we store from Information is what transforms knowledge into real fuel for pure and timeless creativity." Farah advises Arab youth who want to write for children, saying: "You are the children of the universe, and the more you know the universe, the more you know yourself, and the more you create the literature of a great child."

Sheikha Maryam bint Saqr Al Qasimi, the Emirati writer specializing in writing for children, believes that the writer of children's stories is like a doctor, and his work is based on long practice, adding: "Writing for children is a very big responsibility, and it is not easy or easy as many think." She gave advice to young men and women who are about to write to the child, saying: «The child is the enemy of boredom, and does not like guidance books, so the writer must be familiar with everything that is new and interesting to the child, and must keep in mind something important, is to endear children to read using imagination, and put himself in the place of the child as he composes for him».

As for the poet, writer and university professor Al-Dawi, who won first place in the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity, for his play directed to children «The secret of the disappearance of the sun», he said, «The young writer should read more written in this literary genre (children's literature), to understand the techniques of writing in an applied manner, and the importance of the writer to read about the different stages of childhood, and the characteristics of each stage, to know what suits them from literary, linguistic and visionary techniques, and this can be found in books on developmental psychology, educational sciences, and theorizing books. for children's literature."

For his part, Syrian plastic artist and writer and illustrator of children's stories Fawaz Salameh said that the most important element that new children's writers should focus on is to have a strong pictorial imagination, because writing for children depends on the image as much as it depends on the word, and whenever the writer has a great imagination, the stronger his text is influential and attractive.

Maryam Al Qasimi:

"The writer has to put himself in the place of the child and he composes for him."

Amal Farah:

"A deep sense of what we read turns knowledge into fuel for pure creativity."

Fawaz Salameh:

"The more imaginative a writer is, the more influential and attractive his text is."
