A pedestrian who was hit by a police motorcycle from Duchess Sophie's vehicle escort is in a coma. This was reported by the BBC on Saturday night, citing family members of the 81-year-old.
The elderly woman had suffered serious injuries in the accident on Wednesday at a crossroads in London and had been hospitalized in critical condition.
The palace had previously said the Duchess was "heartily with the injured lady and her family in thoughts and prayers." The wife of King Charles' youngest brother Prince Edward also thanked the rescue workers for their quick response.
Meanwhile, Kensington Palace has released an image film of Charles' coronation from the point of view of heir to the throne, Prince William. In the almost five-minute video, scenes from the coronation weekend can be seen, partly from the public program items, partly from the preparations and receptions behind the scenes. Kensington Palace is the residence of William, 40, and his wife Kate, 41, who have held the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales since the death of Queen Elizabeth II last year.
However, the video does not focus on King Charles, his wife Queen Camilla (75) and their coronation, but on the activities of William, Kate and their children Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5). The family can be seen in the palace, during the parade through the city, at the coronation concert in Windsor and volunteering for a scout group on Coronation Day.
The scenes are accompanied by dramatic music, which is somewhat in contrast to the contemplative activities of the royals. Again and again, short speeches by William are recorded, for example his oath of allegiance to his father at the coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey.
