The facts took place in the night from Thursday to Friday, around 3:30 am. A man, armed with a rifle according to information from RMC, entered a taco restaurant in Villeurbanne, near Lyon. In this snack bar, two employees were present as well as a customer. According to the first elements of the investigation, the individual demanded the contents of the cash register, threatening people with his weapon, said the prosecutor of Lyon.
"Just as the perpetrator was about to leave, one of the two employees tried to intervene," he added. The respondent fired several shots at him, hitting him in the lower abdomen and thigh, before fleeing. The victim was quickly taken to hospital by emergency services but died from his injuries.
The prosecutor's office, having immediately moved to the scene, opened an investigation into the counts of robbery with a weapon and intentional homicide which it entrusted to the services of the Zonal Directorate of Judicial Police (DZPJ). The perpetrator of this robbery is actively sought.
