In the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, the Piqued Jacks, a Pistoia band that represented San Marino in Liverpool, failed to win a place in Saturday's final, where Marco Mengoni will compete for Italy with "Due vite". The song "Like an animal" did not convince marking a new negative trend of participation.

In the thirteen previous editions in which San Marino took part in the singing competition, the feat of accessing the final has succeeded only three times: in 2014 with Valentina Monetta in Copenhagen, in 2019 in Tel Aviv with Serhat and in 2021 in Rotterdam with Senhit. Not even Achille Lauro, last year competing with "Stripper", had managed to snatch access to the final in Turin.

The Tuscan indie-rock quartet - composed of E-King (vocals), Majic-o (guitar), Holy-Hargot (drums), Little Ladle (bass) - has four albums and has been a supporting group for Interpol, Chevelle, Balthazar, The Boomtown Rats and Marlene Kuntz.
