The tragedy occurred shortly after midnight Thursday night, in an affluent district of Courbevoie, in the Hauts-de-Seine. A 40-year-old man is suspected of killing his 5-year-old daughter before trying to end his life by jumping out of the window, on the 2nd floor of the building, learned 20 Minutes from concordant sources, confirming information from the Parisian. The man, who had previously also stabbed himself in the carotid artery, was transported in absolute emergency to the Pompidou hospital. The investigations were entrusted to the judicial police of Hauts-de-Seine.

The alert was given around midnight by neighbors, alerted by the screams in the apartment and found that the mother was in front of the door. "We are on a context of extremely conflictual separation," says a source close to the investigation. The father was subject to a removal order and was forbidden to go to the family home and to the commune of Courbevoie. The police have already intervened twice in their homes in less than a month, incidents that would have been settled on the spot. Several complaints of non-presentation of children and violence had been filed on both sides.

Murder investigation

When they arrived on the scene, the police found the child's mother, she did not appear to be injured. Her ex-boyfriend is holed up in the apartment with their daughter. To the police, he assures that the girl is in the bathroom and alive. But a few minutes later, he appears on the balcony with a bloody face. A column then forms and breaks down the door. It is then a little over 00:50.

In the bathroom, the firefighters tried, in vain, to resuscitate the girl in cardio-respiratory arrest. His father, who stabbed himself in the throat before jumping, is still breathing but his prognosis is life-threatening. The prosecutor's office, which went to the scene overnight, opened an investigation for murder. For the time being, neither the father nor the mother are in a position to be heard.
