Actor Yoo Ain (37, real name Eom Hong-sik), who is suspected of taking drugs, was scheduled to appear before the police for the second time today (11th), but was turned away in front of the police headquarters due to the large number of reporters.

The Drug Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned Mr. Yoo at 10 a.m. today as a suspect in violation of the Narcotics Control Act and inquired about the type and number of drugs he had administered, the route of purchase, and whether he was an accomplice.

Mr. Yoo arrived nearby at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Mapo Office building before the scheduled time of the investigation, but returned after conveying his opinion to the police to the effect that "he will not be able to attend due to the large number of reporters."

The police have informed Mr. Yu of the investigation schedule again, but it is unclear whether Mr. Yu will be present.

During the first summons in March, Yu's side protested when the date of his attendance became known to the media, and postponed the investigation.

Police believe Yu took five drugs.

In February, the police received an appraisal from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation that four narcotic substances, including hemp, propofol, cocaine, and ketamine, were detected in Yu's hair and urine.

Later, Yu's medical records captured the circumstances under which the psychotropic drug zolpidem was prescribed for non-medical purposes.

Mr. Yu went to the police once on March 3 and was questioned for a long time.

Mr. Yu reportedly denied all but some of the allegations of inhaling cannabis.

Police will conclude their investigation of Yu and decide whether to apply for an arrest warrant.
