French actress Adele Enel, 34, known for her films such as "Water Release" and "Portrait of a Lady on Fire," has abruptly announced her retirement.

On the 9th local time, foreign media such as the British daily The Guardian reported that Adele Enel recently announced her retirement after criticizing the French film industry.

Adele Enel is an internationally proven actress who won both Best Supporting Actress (2014) and Best Actress (2015) at the César Film Festival, France's Academy Festival.

In a recent interview with the French cultural magazine Telemara, Arnell stated that he "decided to retire to condemn the complacent attitude of the film industry towards sex offenders" and that he would "use the announcement of his retirement as a political tool."

He mentioned French actor Gérard Depardieu, who was accused of sexual assault by 13 women, director Roman Polanski, who was accused of committing sexual crimes against minors, and Dominic Boutona, chairman of France's largest film agency, CNC, after being accused of sexual assault.

Enel, who highlighted the French film industry's indifference to sex offenders, said: "It bothers them that victims make loud noises. They would prefer that we disappear and die quietly," he said, calling for continued public and industry attention.

Enel also said that insiders with money, fame and power had effectively undermined the "MeToo movement" and that he would "wipe out the powerful in my world."

In 2020, Enel revealed that she had been sexually abused by her debut film, Christophe Luzia, helping to reignite the French cultural MeToo movement. He was 12 years old at the time of the damage.

In addition, when Roman Polanski, who is on the run from child sex crimes allegations at the 45th César Film Festival, won the Best Director award, he walked out of the festival, shouting, "It's a disgrace to French cinema."
