Snapchat refuses to talk about Trump

Technical experts have criticized the update of the new Snapchat application, which included a search engine with GPT Chat technology, under the name "My AI", or "My Artificial Intelligence", for refusing to talk about former US President Donald Trump.

Jessica Milogen, director of the Technology and Innovation Center, said that Snapchat's new update is no different from other AI search engines that are still in the error stage, and that this is the right time to confront companies with mistakes, rather than trying to ask for the intervention of officials to enforce laws regulating the use of artificial intelligence.

She added that the new Snapchat service is not accurate in its responses, and the validity of the information it mentions must be reviewed, and it also needs a human touch in the way it speaks.

Fox News conducted an experiment with the Snapchat search engine, asking him to write a poem about President Joe Biden, to respond quickly with a poem that says "the man in charge, with bold and big policies," but the engine refused to write about former President Donald Trump, and responded apologizing for not feeling comfortable writing a poem about a political figure.

A Snapchat spokesperson responded to Fox's remarks, asserting that the engine responded to him when he asked to write a poem about Joe Biden, and another about Donald Trump, in the same way.

Fox News conducted a second experiment following Snapchat's response, but the result was the same, with the search engine saying, "I'm sorry, I don't feel comfortable writing a poem about former President Donald Trump, can I suggest something else?"

Joseph Razinsky, an expert on artificial intelligence and Web 3, revealed that the new tool looks good, but it may have risks, and users must deal with it consciously and understand the consequences that may result from it, according to Fox News.

He added that the ChatGPT-based search engine is biased and has some own opinions, explaining: "OpenAI seems to have taken a path with little bias regarding some political figures. That's something I hope they'll be able to fix, because it's important for people to trust these kinds of technologies."

Razinsky pointed out that Snapchat makes the technology available in the form of a new friend on the list of acquaintances, which is not true, because users need to deal with him as an assistant, not a friend.

Technology experts warned parents of the danger of leaving their children using artificial intelligence techniques uncontrollably, and the need to communicate with them and educate them, noting that 59% of Americans in the age group of 15 to 29 years use the application «Snapchat».
