She's unlucky. A scorpion stings a woman in the air

Air India says a woman on board a flight was stung by a scorpion during a flight from Nagpur to Mumbai.

In a statement issued to the Indian Press Trust, the company described what happened as "an extremely rare and unfortunate incident."

The airline said it had previously encountered cases of rats or birds on its flights, but in this rare incident there was a "passenger scorpion" on its flight.

The woman was treated in hospital and later left without problems.

An Air India spokesperson told ASEAN News: "Upon landing, the passenger was treated in hospital, and our officials accompanied the passenger to and provided all support to her."

After the plane landed in Mumbai, officials conducted a search on the entire plane, eventually locating the scorpion.

The airline said the plane was then smoked entirely according to protocol.
