Sharjah Reading Festival adorns the «Publisher Weekly»

In its new 55th issue, Al Nasher Weekly magazine focused on Sharjah's vision of comprehensive development in all sectors, foremost of which is culture, as it is the "cornerstone" of the renaissance. The cover was topped by a photo from the entrance of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival at Expo Centre Sharjah.

The magazine, which is issued by the Sharjah Book Authority, published articles, studies and critical reviews of books issued in Arabic, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Polish, English and Belgian, including articles on the historian and director of Sinbad in Paris, Farouk Mardam Bey, the book "Memoirs of the Arqash" by Mikhail Naima, the Polish poet Krzysztof Karasek, the book "Nervousness and Wisdom" by Dr. Saeed Al-Ghanmi, and the career of the Belgian writer Carmine Michels. The issue also included an interview with Palestinian book illustrator Baraa Al Aour, who won one of the awards of the Sharjah Children's Book Illustration Exhibition, as well as a survey on the use of modern media in the development of the publishing industry.

The Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, Editor-in-Chief, Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, wrote the editorial of the issue entitled: "Sharjah... Strategic Vision" in which he addressed the Sharjah Cultural Project, the Sharjah Wheat Project, the achievements of the Sharjah International Book Fair, and the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, linking all paths of construction, development and advancement of the knowledge base based on the book as a treasure of all treasures.

While the managing editor of the «Publisher Weekly» poet Ali Al-Ameri wrote his corner entitled: «Salma Al-Khadra Al-Jayyousi... Literary Motherhood", in which he addressed the efforts of the poet, researcher and translator in introducing the West to the achievements of the Arabs' civilization.
