The report of the Bureau d'enquêtes et d'analyses (BEA) is damning. A little more than a year after the fatal crash of a tourist plane in the Côtes-d'Armor, investigators have delivered their conclusions. On April 10, 2022, a 27-year-old couple was killed in the crash of a small passenger plane. The pilot of the craft had also died in the accident that occurred one minute after takeoff from Saint-Brieuc airport.

According to the report reviewed by Ouest-France, the pilot had delivered a rough briefing before take-off. Having just returned from the West Indies where he was from, he could have suffered the effects of jet lag. Holding a private pilot's licence since 1991, the 62-year-old man was described as an "experienced" pilot. The investigation showed, however, that he had flown very little in recent months.

A skyrocketing

On the day of the crash, witnesses had seen the plane soar but at low speed. The aircraft then stalled before crashing into a rapeseed field, killing its three occupants instantly. The criminal investigation is continuing to try to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
