A factory building suddenly collapsed in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. There were no strong winds or earthquakes, which witnesses say was caused by fighter jets.

This is an exclusive report by reporter Lee Tae-kwon.

The place was littered with cement blocks and roof fragments.

At half past 4 p.m. on the 4th, two cable manufacturing plants covering an area of 2 square meters disappeared in just two seconds.

The factory collapsed beyond recognition.

Broken slate roofs and materials are everywhere, and the exterior walls of the building are damaged as if they had been bombed.

The employees were on an outside business trip, so there were no casualties, but all the expensive equipment was lost.

Witnesses claim that there were no strong winds, earthquakes, or other weather factors at the time that caused the building to collapse.

He roared and pointed to the fighter jets that had passed.

[Choi Jong-gak/Factory Employee: As the fighter passed by, I just heard the sound of bread. And then the building just moved. Aw, it was a huge sound. I sat down like this while I was working there.]

As a result of checking with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Infrastructure, it was determined that the plane that actually took off from the Osan US military base flew over the area at an altitude of 900~2m around 4:29 pm, just before the collapse.

A Department of Lands official explained that it is common for helicopters and fighter jets to fly at that altitude and that it is highly unlikely to affect the collapse of a building.

The factory owner is demanding an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse, but Pyeongtaek maintains that it does not constitute a "social disaster" that requires manpower and budget to determine the cause, and there are no plans for a separate investigation.
