At the Coronation Concert there were over 20,4 people on the grounds of Windsor Castle, just outside London.

Katy Perry, Take That (back on the scene together after <> years off), Andrea Bocelli and Lionel Richie performed: under the smug gaze of King Charles and Queen Camilla, in the amusement of Kate, William and their children - and those who managed to grab the ticket. It was a riot of lights, colors and music.

"We are so proud of you, Pa," said William, who took the stage, recalling how his father dedicated his life to "serving" the country. "For over 50 years, in every corner of the United Kingdom, in the Commonwealth and around the world, he has dedicated himself to serving others, both present and future generations and those whose memory is forgotten." He also pointed out that the king warned about the risks to the health of the planet "well before it became a daily problem".

Charlotte and her mother Kate, Princess of Wales, sang while Katy Perry, dressed in a gold foil dress, performed "Roar". Visibly moved, the pop star said she also brought her mother to London, "thrilled to live this experience" - and therefore the second song she performed could only be "Firework".

Lionel Richie inflamed the audience.

In honor of the King he sang some of his classics: the unforgettable 'We Are TheWorld', written with Michael Jackson in 1985, All Night Long (1983) or 'Say You, Say Me', which won the Academy Award in 1986. Richie was invited to the concert also because of his recent appointment as the first global ambassador for 'The Prince's Trust', a key charity for King Charles III.

Among the super guests there was also the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" in duet with baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, winner of Grammy, Classical Brit and Gramophone Award. Terfel is a real star for the British: he was awarded the 'Queen's Medal for Music' in 2006 and the Knighthood for his services to music in 2017

After four years of absence from the scene (but without Robbie Williams) the event ended Take That, who also performed with band and children's choir. To their tunes, Queen Camilla stood up and danced, while King Charles smiled.

King Charles coronation, The Concert at Windsor. Take That

Among the funniest moments of the evening, not exactly singing, the exchange of jokes between the presenter Hugh Bonneville and Miss Piggy of the Muppets who complained that she was not a lady and that she wanted a castle. A curtain call that King Charles found hilarious, judging by his facial expressions.

Another moment appreciated not only by the royals, but also by the public, the one in which the video message of the American actor, Tom Cruise, the star of "Top Gun", was shown: "From pilot to pilot. Your Majesty, you can be my shoulder at any time."

The concert went hand in hand with the 'Light Up The Nation', a show of lights, projections and illuminated drones, organized in different parts of the country (from Cardiff to Edinburgh passing through Belfast) and closed the day dedicated to the Big Lunch, the parties in the streets that gathered thousands of citizens in every part of the kingdom with placemats, camping chairs and savory pies (first of all the 'quiche dell'incoronazione, the vegan recipe wanted by Carlo and Camilla).

Today continues with the third and final day of celebrations dedicated to the king: it is the day dedicated to the 'Big Help Out', when thousands of volunteers will be in the field with initiatives to help others.
