Alberto Angela and his father's legacy: "I will make a new program, but it will not be called SuperQuark"

"I asked Rai to withdraw this name, as you do with the shirts of the most beloved players of a team"

Alberto Angela has announced a new program of popular science that will be broadcast in prime time starting next summer. Guest of Fabio Fazio at "Che tempo che fa", he talked about how important the figure of his father Piero, who died last August, was for many young people who chose the world of science.

Alberto Angela explained that he wanted to take back from his father the reins of scientific dissemination in public television, so as not to lose the legacy of the greatest lover of knowledge that Italian television has ever had.

The new broadcast does not yet have a name. It certainly won't be called SuperQuark: "That will remain forever, my father's brand. It was his dress, the splendid vessel that he ruled for decades in the seas of knowledge. It is right that it remains his forever. I asked Rai to withdraw this name, as you do with the shirts of the most beloved players of a team".
