Almost a thousand migrants arrived between Friday and Saturday in 24 hours on the island of Lampedusa. The last boats with about 240 people on board were intercepted last night and accompanied to the port of Lampedusa by the patrol boats V1300 of the Guardia di Finanza and Cp306 of the Port Authority. A man was transferred to the polyclinic immediately after disembarkation.

The Tunisian Coast Guard stopped 5 irregular migration attempts on the night between 6 and 20 May, rescuing 803 people on board boats in distress off the coast of Sfax, Mahdia and Nabeul.
